Moorea Pike Takes Top Honors in Illustrious Ballet Competition

Moorea Pike

Moorea Pike, one of our 5th graders here at Stoneybrooke, recently competed in the Youth American Grand Prix, a world-wide ballet competition.  She earned first place in the classical ballet category for her age division and scored in the top 12 in the contemporary category. Out of 5,000 participants, Moorea was one of only 350 who earned the privilege of competing at the Lincoln Center in New York for the finals this coming April! Moorea has been taking ballet since the age of two. She trains between five and six days a week through Southland Ballet Academy and has danced in many professional performances such as the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and just recently, Don Quixote at the Barclay Theater in Irvine.  Though Moorea is quiet and somewhat reserved by nature, she comes alive while performing on stage and brings the Lord glory through her graceful and precise movements of dance!

  2. All the hard work in the studio week in and week out is paying off for this young lady. We just wanted to say how proud we are of her and how excited we all are for her trip to the Big Apple. We can’t wait to see how well she places in the finals. Good luck from your biggest fans. The Vivers Family. God Bless You!
